About this project
This was my very first attempt at fashion and portrait photography back in 2016. Whilst I had many years experience in photography, I had never done a portrait photo shoot before. We went for a street fashion theme around the streets of Belfast City, Northern Ireland. A back street filled with colourful graffiti provided a great backdrop to our photos. As the sun started to set, we headed over to the Titanic Quarter for our final shots.
Overall I was very pleased with how my first portrait photography shoot had turned out. It was a wise decision to hire a professional model and a portrait camera lens for this shoot - the results speak for themselves. Since this shoot, my portrait photography skills and creativity have improved greatly at a rapid rate. I now have my own professional camera, multiple portrait lenses and lighting equipment.
Gear Used
Since this was my first portrait photography shoot and on-location in Belfast city, all camera gear was kept to a minimum. A DSLR camera, professional portrait lens and on-camera Speedlite flash gun were used.
- Canon EOS 7D Mark II DSLR
- Canon 24-70 f/2.8L USM II
- Canon 430EX II Speedlite
